Good to know that the VA is using the tax payer's money wisely. I'm sure this has helped with the treatment and rehabilitation of a vast number of our returning soldiers. Or maybe it helped some of them buy a new home or attend school so they could get a good job. There otta be a law![
A video parody of the movie "Patton" which the Department of Veterans Affairs spent $52,000 to produce surfaced Wednesday, as lawmakers stepped up pressure on the VA to explain another set of questionable and costly conferences. The parody was commissioned in connection with two VA conferences held last year in Orlando. Those conferences -- which according to Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., ran taxpayers a total of $5 million and were held for HR workers -- are now under investigation by the department's inspector general. The price tag on those conferences far exceeds the roughly $830,000 spent by the General Services Administration at a 2010 Las Vegas conference, a lavish affair that drew outrage on Capitol Hill. Another investigation! No one will be fired. No money will be recovered. And, those who arranged for this waste will probably be promoted or at worst sent on a paid holiday.

They should get a team of conservatives to go through every little line item in the government and cut off all the garbage. Problem is, this team will eventually balloon into a major bureaucracy requiring millions just to talk about how to plan for cutting line items.
