Well, if your worst-case scenario comes to pass, what's $29 million?

A Big Mac?
I think a Big Mac in Caracus costs about 29 million Maduros!

I have seen that house many times, as Tommy & I used to walk the doggies in the park right across the street from it. I wondered who lived there. But you may have the place. Not my style of house and not in an area that I want. BTW, I wonder what will be left of it after the next big SF earthquake comes, which is already well over due. -Don- Reno, NV

Well, if your worst-case scenario comes to pass, what's $29 million? Sounds cheap for being the most expensive house in SF. Considering how expensive the cheap houses are.-Don- Reno, NV

I thought I should explain something here. If you watched the video, you saw where the gal said the cheapest house will sell for more than the asking price. That is for certain. But that is with all houses in SF, I assume even with the most expensive. I will explain the game the realtors play in expensive areas such as SF.
They want as many people as possible to look at every house up for sale. So they figure what it is likely to sell for and then take about 20% of that for the asking price. That way more people look at it and more people bid on the price. They never go for the asking price, it is ALWAYS well above asking when the bidding starts. Often a lot higher than that 20%.
In other areas, far from the SF Bay Area, houses usually go for less than asking. However, since employment is very good now here in Reno with one large company after the other moving in, the same is happening here, where the asking price will SOMETIMES not be enough to get the place. But it is the norm in the SF Bay Area.
In the SF Bay Area, all for sale signs might as well say "For Sale--ten cents" because the asking price has nothing to do with the real price.

No matter, I have it on good authority that a lawyer from Vancouver has put in an offer too good to refuse. He will demolish and rebuild a new "Swampy Tower2".

PS, Is this the same area they are crapping in the SF streets? SJ That only happens in the dumpy business areas where the homeless bums hangout. -Don- Reno, NV

Not sure about the SOM area, but not from what I have seen when in that area years ago. Perhaps now there as well as any other place of SF that has a lot of homeless people. I think it's a growing problem in SF. The homeless are not effected by the high home prices. But warm winter weather probably draws a lot of bums to SF. -Don- Reno, NV

It looked rather crappy in 1983 on my first trip.
We have the same problem on Queenslands Gold Coast.
Has the highest % of homeless in the nation as the weather is so mild that you can sleep anywhere without a problem. Days are usually 22c to 26C and nights are about 18C.

SJ That type of weather seems great to me also! Beats the snow here in Reno. It just stopped snowing and the temp here now 0°C / 32°F. Yeah, SOM is a dumpy SF area, but without a lot of homeless in the area while I was there. But that could have changed since then. -Don- Reno, NV
