An interesting topic has come up during our discussion on FB, so I'm starting a new thread.
Is an Embassy foreign territory? I understand that's not so; it's an area where foreign law applies. For Canada, this could have an interesting implication, because, under our constitution, the federal government cannot take change a province's boundary without the province's consent. If an embassy is no longer Canadian territory, then the province's boundary - Ontario in our case - would be changed, and the province, as far as I know, never gave consent to any of the embassies being foreign territory.
Another thing is that, during WW2, when a Dutch princess was about to be born, Parliament designated the hospital room to be Dutch territory. Again, my same issue applies.
