Might have the wrong Prince , there was Charles , Edward , Andrew and of course Anne who was a story in herself , one dropped out of the Royal Marines this angered Philip who went to see about it but no luck .

He wore a uniform at the Falklands. I'll give credit to the boys - they did put on their uniforms for Queen and country.

I am 100% certain that Charles will become King. I nurse a hope that he develops a bad back and abdicates in favour of William 5th, but only time will tell.
QE2s mother lived to 101, and I expect that she will go close to that. She is 85 now, and should have another 10 years to go. That will make Charles not far short of 80.
The Royal Family has been around since 1066 so I cannot see it changing any time soon.

Grand-daughter has conversed with both Prince Charles and Camilla at a function in Australia, but has never been formally introduced.

Charles has a bit of baggage in the form of Camellia , Will seems to have something going for him with Kate who seems to be very coy and has captured the subjects fancy , an ambitious girl I think .

I think it is most likely that the Queen will retire before she is much older and that William will be the next King. The Family knows that the royal future needs the hands of a young couple and not Charles who is now an elderly man and close to normal retirement age, hardly an inspiration to younger generations.

Don't know about that Charles has been drooling a long time for the job . I suspect that he prefers his private garden and peace However the decision is not his to make and I believe that HRH The Queen has a plan in her mind and that will be for the long term future of her family

Muleskinner she is a very impressive lady in person, I have met her a couple of times briefly but family members have sat alongside her at dinners and reported how natural and normal she is to be with.

Prem,
A stricktly personal view, but I cannot imagine QE2 abdicating for less than a terminal medical problem. Her father was forced into the job by Edward 8th abdication, and her mother never forgave him for it.
Her father KG6 served with lung cancer until the day he died on my 13th birthday, and I simply cannot see her doing any less.
