SJ,
He got you again, you are SOOOOOO easy!
For someone like myself who loves good meat, it is really strange but I also enjoy SPAM.

Probably none of you have known the joys of Scrapple. A typically Pennsylvania Dutch breakfast goodie....

We like SPAM both simply pan fried, or as an addition to fried rice chopped into tiny cubes. Good in sandwiches too for lazy old codgers.
Clever name, SPecial hAM.

I like SPAM any way I can get it, cold, hot or anything in between. It's a gourmand's delicacy. After spending so many years in the Far East, nothing to eat used to bother me. Then in Germany, we used to say that hot dogs were made with chicken beaks, eyeballs, feet and feathers. Once you had a couple German beers, who cared anyway? Even though I no longer drink, I've give a lot for a good German beer, a real one, not like the beers over here that are pasteurized. I have always said that a German beer can be compared with a good meal, it's that good. Unless it's Beck's which to me tastes like panther piss (don't ask me how I know).

Denny,
Our son loves chicken feet at the Yum Cha, even though I keep reminding him where the chicken feet spent their day.

What was the goal of the Reich ? Russia was a mirage the closer to victory the further away it was the Germans took the Empire and France off the board until 1944 , the Empire did enjoy some success in north Africa , mostly through fire power supplied by the Yanks plus the fact that Monty out numbered the Afrika corps umpteen to one . The Germans should have relived the 6Th army at Stalingrad , even Hitler could see that and sent a Panzer Army to help but to late and the relief force had a hard time keeping themselves from being annihilated .

It wasn't General Sherman that defeated Rommel, it was General MILES.

Rommel worked wonders with what he had to work with , one major burden that he had were the Italians who if not useless were next to useless , Rommel's supply line was impossible which is why he had to take Tubrok which he did , one asset though minimal was that the Egyptians didn't like the Empire .

MS,
"one major burden that he had were the Italians who if not useless were next to useless"
The Italian POWS taken at Bardia and Tobruk numbered in the 10s of 1000s. One day my FIL and a couple of mates were assigned to moving a huge column of them from A to B, and one rolled a hand grenade towards Bob where it exploded behind him. His mate saw the incident and put a bullet in the Italians brain for his trouble.
In about 1957 or 1958, bits of that grenade were still coming to the surface of Bob's back. I actually saw him dig a bit out from under the skin.
Those POWS went to rural Victoria and lived well for the duration. After repatriation they all did a u-turn and came back as refugees.
