So shall you post the notice in the old place or shall I? We should also advise the American History Forum, the Civil War Forum, the History Forum, and the Republican Forum.
We were the largest online military community on the planet, and everyone should know where we are.

From Jim Heaton, who bought it at the turn of the millenium.

Ok, I'm going to do a very SMALL search because I find that statement very difficult to believe. For example, how many active duty or recently retired folks do we have? My guess is that ithe number is very small. Younger folks don't want to be part of an old farts forum unless we are current and we aren't. I wouldn't expect us to be either. Anyway, I think I'll do a search because it is trying to rain here this morning and there is nothing else to do.

Jim's claim related to the 1990's, but that's irrelevant now, I guess.

Just a quick and dirty brought me to the Military.com forum which had 370 people online AT THAT MOMENT. I think we are small beans, but then I've always liked beans! I certainly like this one much more than the "old" one. The posts seem more topical and much less confrontational, although I like confrontation in context and as long as it doesn't get too personal. A good heated discussion among parties is fun.

They were online, but how many posted?
I've done an informal search of various forums in various areas, and I've noticed that most threads don't involve more than half a dozen people, never mind the number of people online. As I've said before, as the supply of forums approaches infinity, the number of members per forum goes to zero.
I wonder if other people have noticed the same thing.

Tet's last post over in the old FORUM. Doesn't look like he'll be joining us here....
Forum has had it , I'm thinking good riddance , I wore myself out trying to inject a little military into it , I know only that being politically correct is burning our country down and has shut this forum down .
Jerry of course an officer and a gentleman and backs his troops to the limit , I think he and I would have got along well in Vietnam had we;d been in the same unit .
I have moved my headquarters over to a Vietnam Vet Forum where I'm more at home .

We wish him well. He once told me that, even though I never joined the military, but the military was all about honor, and, if I have honor, I have served.
Thank you, Tet, for making me one of you.
