I'm not going to feel sorry for the python. In fact, I hope the ticks kill it.

The snake will have to stay in the water for at least two days to get ride of those ticks. With that many ticks, I assume it could take week for some of them. -Don- Auburn, CA

I'm not going to feel sorry for the python. In fact, I hope the ticks kill it. Parasites rarely kill anything as then parasites will usually die as well. But what do you have against snakes? I hate ticks, but I like snakes. -Don- Auburn, CA

Slimy, and pythons kill many humans. You're wrong on both, Snakes are not slimy at all and very few people anywhere are killed by any snake. Especially when we compare to mosquitoes, bees, man etc. See here. Also see here. All snakes combined kill around 55,000 people per year in the entire world. Mosquitoes kill 725,000 people per year. Man kills at least 475,000 every year. Pet dogs kill 25,000 people per year. There is NO RECORD of the Carpet Python ever killing anybody at all. Not a single human of any size. Believe it or not, the same goes for the venomous AZ Coral snake. The myths are much more common than the truth about snakes. -Don- Auburn, CA

I'm not going to feel sorry for the python. In fact, I hope the ticks kill it. Ticks? Neuro condition? Tourette Disease? Perhaps, the prion, the proto virus. Incurable, no immunity, kills the neurons. BSE, Bovine, Spongiform Enchepalopathy CJDv, Creutzeldt - Jacob Disease, variant Kuru, Papuan Laughing Disease 3 variants of proto viral disease Dr Why

Don,
I have certainly never heard of a Python killing anyone here in Australia. They rarely even bite unless badly provoked.
They often play with kids I think from what I have seen in the 'media'.

I don't know how I missed a very important fact there. I just took another look at that snake. It will be fine and probably not have a single tick on it in just a few days. Has no need for the water, in fact, the snake would probably be better off to get out of the water. I noticed the snakes eyes. The cloudiness of its eyes proves it is ready to shed it's skin. When it does, the ticks go with it. Copy and paste this link if above link does not work: northernwoodlands.org/outside_story/article/snakes -Don- Auburn, CA

Glad to hear it, I expected that it would have been a very unpleasant way to die.
Sucked dry by 511 ticks! I wonder how they got there in the first place?
