By the late '60s, I had completed a tour in Ft. Carson, What year were you at Ft. Carson? I spent a few months there in 1971, just after Vietnam. I was in the mighty 4Th Division. -Don- SF, CA

I am a combat vet. MOS 11B, light weapons infantry. Central Highland Jungles (4th Infantry Div area) in Vietnam, mainly around An Khe and Pleiku. But I was also in the 1970 Cambodia incursion. However, after I got to Ft. Carson, I volunteered to be a permanent KP. It ended up being one of the best jobs an EM could get on the base. I had a three day weekend off every other week and I was untouchable for any other details. I would sometimes go to Denver and such, just to get away from the base. Ft. Carson was the home base of the 4th Infantry Division. -Don- SF, CA

We were still in the old WWII "temporary" barracks when I was there. Germany, with permanent buildings was a vast improvement (except when we were in the field)...

I always lie about all my profiles everywhere. I invented a date in 1980 and whenever a forum won't accept "no answer" I use a date I selected in 1980. I was born just after WW II ended. I graduated from UCLA in the late '60s. I'm an early model baby boomer. I hate Internet sites that pry for personal information. I always lie when they won't accept no answer. The only acceptable question is (a) are you under 18 years old, or (b) are you 18 years old or older? I'm a senior citizen who receives Social Security. By the late '60s, I had completed a tour in Ft. Carson, one in Germany, one in DC, one in Ethiopia, one at Ft. Bragg, and was finishing up Vietnam. I'm beginning to feel old here... You are old! By the end of the 60s, I'd completed two tours in Japan (with multiple TDYs to VN) and was on my way to Turkey. By the end of the 60's I was almost 1/2 way through my career in the Army. A few years behind you, but at this point who's counting.
