Why do people have a need to believe in such obvious nonsense? Is it to get high? For the poor it is hope, for the other a tradition or a matter of habit. The later is the reason why the laws of religion were no longer taken so serious in the past 30 years, until the fundamentalists returned to center stage and now are terrorizing the other. Wherever you look, Christian fundamentalists in the USA, Jews in Israel, Islamist, even the Buddhists see an increasing number of fundamentalists. Why do they have success? Because the majority has no real interest in their religion and a kind of bad conscience about that, so they let the true believers take over. Everybody is believing in something, some in religion (whatever flavor), other that the free markets would cure everything wrong, some that there is a secret world government of Templars, pulling the strings and so on. The human brain has a center, when this is stimulated, it causes strong religious feelings. So whatever is stimulating this center, it makes you believe. " The human brain has a center, when this is stimulated, it causes strong religious feelings. "Where is this center in the brain (if there is one there?) How is it called? I know that there is a center of enjoyment, hedonism, lust in the human neurology, and by stimulating it one actually can seduce an individual. But religious feelings?

OK, I shall attempt. Homicide, murder is punishable under essentially all laws. Adultery -- well it is considered ethically bad. Stealing, punishable usually with a fine in Finland. And these things are often laws in places where they never even heard of Christianity. IMAO, it would be MUCH more accurate to claim that Christian morality standards came from our very old laws and moral standards from thousands of years before the ridiculous idea of God's middleman (Jesus) was even thought about.
